Welcome to UIV Talents Cup 2011/2012!

For the 9th time UIV welcomes riders to participate in the UIV Talents Cup Under 23. We want to invite young riders who are passionate by track-cycling in common and the fascinating discipline Madison in special. The UIV is a group of organizers behind the greatest and most traditional 6-Days in the World and our aim is to stimulate track-cycling and to create new talents for tomorrow’s 6-Days.
We are happy to announce, that the numbers of UIV Talents Cup the coming winter will increase from six to eight legs:

Please find the technical regulations below. There will in the UIV Talents Cup 2011-2012 be no overall classification, but the results and the performances will sure be an important guideline for the 6-Days organisers in regard of finding new riders for the pro/elite 6-Days.

Regulations UIV Talents Cup 2011/2012

Article 01.             
The "UIV International 6-Day Talents Under 23 Madison Cup" (UIV Talents Cup) is organised by Union Internationale des Vélodromes in co-operation with the members of UIV. The UIV Talents Cup 2011/2012 consists of the following 8 legs:

01. Amsterdam (NED) 3-Days Thursday 20th to Saturday 22nd October 2011
02. Ghent (BEL) 6-Days Tuesday 22nd to Sunday 27th November 2011
03. Zurich (SUI) 4-Days Wednesday 30th Nov. to Saturday 3rd Dec. 2011
04. Hannover (GER) 4-Days Friday 16th to Monday 19th December 2011 - cancelled
05. Rotterdam (NED) 5-Days Friday 6th to Tuesday 10th January 2012
06. Bremen (GER) 3-Days Friday 13th to Sunday 15th January 2012
07. Berlin (GER) 4-Days Thursday 26th to Sunday 29th January 2012

Article 02.           Participation
The UIV 6-Days Talents Cup is open for riders in the under 23. The participation of juniors (17 – 18 years) is possible. A rider, who is under 23, when he enters the first leg of the Cup may participate in all legs of the running Cup, even if he passes the age of 23 before the last leg.
The Cup is open also to riders under 23, belonging to Pro Tour Teams or Continental Pro Teams.
The Cup is a Team-Event, open for national teams as well as mixed teams.
When a team/rider has participated in more than three Elite 6-Days in the same season, it is not possible to participate in the UIV 6-Day Talents Cup again during that season. The winter-season defined as from mid September until 31st of March.

Article 03.           Enrolment
Every organiser decides how many teams he can invite to his race, accordingly to the size of the track and the UCI regulations.
National candidates apply directly to the local organiser.
Foreign candidates may apply directly to the local organiser or through the UIV-Coordinator on request of the organiser, but the local organiser decides how many and which teams, he wants to invite.
- By principle the UIV Talents Cup is open for all male riders Under 23 who have a license from a national federation under the UCI. One should in principle sign as a team.

Article 04.           Technical Regulations
The UIV Talents Cup is run accordingly to corresponding regulations of the UCI and the special Technical Regulations set up by the UIV for this purpose

Please note that from 2009/2010 their will be maximum gear for
tracks with a length shorter than 250 metres : 7.01 metres (as example 52x16)
tracks with a length from 250 till 333,3 metres : 7.09 metres (as example 53x16)tracks with a length more than 333,3 meters : 7.22 metres (as example 54x16)


 Article 05.          Financial conditions
The organiser offers free accommodations for recognised teams (2 riders and maximum 1 personal) but no travel-fees. The price-money in every leg will be accordingly to the decisions of each organiser.
